I recently picked up a leaflet about events at the Forge Mill and saw that there is an exhibition of photographs memories of residents.
My mother in law spent time at the brickworks in Ferney Hill as a child as her grandfather owned the brickworks. She often talks about her memories of this time .
Firstly, I wonder if you have any photographs of the brickworks . My mother in law definitely has an early photo of the family there but I think it was before ww1
Also , is there a way she could contribute to your archive as I know she would value this opportunity
Finally , do you have any photos of the brickworks we could access?

I recently met up with Dylan, Jeremy’s son as he was visiting Alton Towers which is near Stoke. He was asking about the Hughes side of the family as he knows not much about this.
Anyway was doing some research into John James Hughes and his exploits in the Ukraine as I understand there is some connection.
Anyway I do have a photo of Ferny Hill brickworks may be the same one you have.

I was just reading the exchange with Mum above.
I found it as I was googling Ferny Hill brickworks and the connection with John James Hughes of Donetsk fame
Mum is now rather suffering with dementia and shortly after your exchange into a care home
I would love to give her some news about you Jeremy and share the photo of the brickworks you have
