Gun Dogs at Ipsley Court

Perhaps one of the more unusual requests for help we have received but Redditch residents local knowledge never ceases to amaze me.  So can you help?

Ingemar Borelius asks…..

I’m writing a book about the history of the retriever. The progenitor of the Wavy-coated retriever, a bitch named  Young Bounce, was brought up at Ipsley Court, being owned by the Gamekeeper John Hull. J.H. Whitehouse was one of the leading gundog breeders in the middle of the nineteenth century and Mr Hull worked for him at the estate. Is there anyone in the historical society that might have studied the history of Ipsley Court and the people who lived there? Is there any material kept from the estate archive that might contain the kennel books?
